MAGIC CARPETS RESIDENCY
In summer 2023 Vita Malahova took part in Magic Carpets Residency hosted by the New Theatre Institute of Latvia in collaboration with the association "I Want to Help Refugees", artist Eva Vēvere and non-formal education trainer and supervisor Lauma Žubule. She organised various activities and workshops at the asylum seekers' accommodation centre "Mucenieki" and the accommodation centre for detained foreigners "Daugavpils".

FESTIVAL DELLE LINGUE 8 - 19 APRIL TICINO (CH)
GLI ANALFABETI is a documentary theater performance for middle schools. Inspired by the autobiographical story of Latvian actress Vita Malahova, the performance is narrated by herself and her best friend, musician Aude Lorrillard. The play is set in a social and political context spanning from 19th-century Latvia to present-day Russia. Together with the audience, which is involved in the unfolding of the story, the two friends explore different themes: the organization of daily life during the Soviet Union, the feeling of belonging to a family unit, or even the need—or lack thereof—to know one's family members and how much they influenced and still influence the lives of their descendants.
