THE FIRST ONES 2023

If 150  plant and animal species become extinct in one day, we have eight species to mourn in a 70-minute evening of theater. Or is it more like 20 per day or 30, 50, 100 or300? The current estimate is around 50,000 species per year. The exact figure no longer seems relevant, or at least it is difficult to grasp rationally. What is clear, however, is that their disappearance is directly linked to a single species and its way of life and behavior: humans.

Starting from their own bodies, the performers mix mythical tradition with contemporary forms of theater in order to experience a purification in the ritual, to escape powerlessness and to face the challenge.
