I am attracted to playfulness as a strong connection to people, their nature, and life stories. In my work, I explore themes of belonging, vanishing traditions, and individual and collective experiences revealed through people's life stories.

Vita Malahova (*1986) is a performer, mask maker, and theater maker born in Latvia. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Physical Theater from the Accademia Teatro Dimitri in Switzerland and a Master's degree in Expanded Theater from the Bern University of the Arts. Vita is the co-founder of the theater duo I Patom Theatre (IT), with whom she has performed across Europe in plays such as Ran and Got Tired, Colourful Tales, and others. She frequently collaborates with various companies and directors, including Metropolis, Hakkehuset, the New Theatre Institute of Latvia, Astragali Teatro, and more.

In 2024, she founded the collective Ost Sisters, creating works such as The Illiterate (programmed at Schlachthaus Theater in February 2024) and Corpus Artista (featured in the Incubator platform at Rote Fabrik). Beyond her theater work, Vita is actively involved in human rights initiatives supporting refugees and asylum seekers in Switzerland and Latvia. She was selected for the Migro Double program with her project I'm Still Here, which explores the act of welcoming.
